Artistic Project 4: Call for Scores!

Project type

Call for Scores

Location

Tallinn

Deadline

15th February 2024

I am announcing an open call for composers to submit scores for solo historical clarinet or historical clarinet and electronics. This opportunity invites composers to explore the unique timbral and expressive possibilities of historical clarinet, breaking the boundaries of time and history.

Submission Guidelines:
• Instrumentation: the historical clarinet used is a 13-keyed Müller system instrument. Click on the link on the left side of the page to watch a video about historical clarinet. The composer is free to explore its sound qualities by itself or integrate electronics.
• Duration: maximum duration 5 minutes. The selected pieces will create a 30’ long program. The final selection will be communicated one week after the closing date of the CfS.
• Submission Format: scores should be submitted as PDF files and must include detailed performance instructions. For compositions involving electronics, please provide clear and concise technical requirements.
• Eligibility: the call is open to composers of all backgrounds and nationalities. There are no age restrictions. No submission fee.
• Deadline: Submissions must be received by 15th February 2024.

How to Submit:
Please send submissions via email to vittoria.ecclesia@eamt.ee with the subject line: "Name - Historical Clarinet Call for Scores".

The selected compositions will be premiered on 18th April 2024 during my final doctoral concert at the Estonian Centre of Contemporary Music (Tallinn). The composers will receive a high-quality video recording of the piece for their portfolio.
